How And Why Does Santa Claus Visit Every Kid In The World?
What is the most common question that kids ask their parents about Santa Claus? The question is, how does he get to drop presents to every kid in the world, and why does he do it? For many kids, they may just take the answer that it is magical and go on. However, for many kids the idea of Santa Claus being able to travel throughout the world in just one night is a bit sketchy! So, the hows and why’s are probably something that every parent is going to have to answer about Santa Claus to their kids!
Why Does Santa Bring Every Kid Something For Christmas?
The why of what Santa Claus does is actually a huge myth that many kids do not know. The myth or legend surrounding Santa is really about Saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas would bring gifts to kids in poorer villages…but these gifts were not what we see today. These were often fruits and small wooden toys that the kids would not have had otherwise. It was his way of helping to lift the spirits of the community and basically give back to the community.
Over the years, this legend has grown to what it is today. Today, Santa Claus brings gifts to all the good kids throughout the year. And if you look at different places throughout the world, they have some type of Santa, even if they do not call this person “Santa”.
How Does Santa Reach Every Kid In One Night?
To answer this question, you are going to find that you may have dug deep for a believable story. If you tell a child that it is magic, they may take that answer for a while. However, as they get old, the physics of this is where kids become confused.
If you want to answer this in a way that does not involve magic, a great explanation would be that since it is the night on one half of the globe, then turns to day while the other half of the globe goes dark, Santa is not really doing this in one 12 hour span. He is actually dropping gifts during a 24 hour period. Furthermore, his sled is going to travel as fast as an airplane. To help literate this fact, remember that the US Air Force actually “tracks” Santa on Christmas Eve for kids…which has helped to bring this to life even more for kids throughout the world.
If your child is asking about the specifics of Santa Claus, you have a choice as to whether to tell them the truth about this myth, or to play it up a bit more. For parents, they often choose to play it up a bit more as the idea of kids believing in Santa Claus really does make the holidays that much more fun for the parents. However, the choice is up to you and what you believe would be best for your child.
